TAMPA, Fla. (September 22, 2015) – Forty-one prominent local organizations, including the Tampa Bay Lightning, Yacht StarShip , The Florida Aquarium and Tampa International Airport, will display their decorated streetcar sculptures that will be placed throughout downtown Tampa, Channelside and Ybor City at a preview party on Oct. 7.
Decorated by local artists, the streetcar-themed public art project provides local businesses and citizens the opportunity to highlight a historical aspect of the city. Led by Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Tampa Bay’s artLOUD! initiative, the preview party will be held from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. on the Yacht StarShip.
Sculpture artists, sponsors and the community are invited to gather for a sneak preview of the finished sculptures before they are installed throughout Tampa on Oct. 10.
“Each streetcar sculpture has a unique theme related to the company sponsor and its connection to Tampa Bay,” said Kristin Mora, a real estate attorney with the Pettit Worrell law firm and a member of CREW Tampa Bay’s artLOUD! committee. “We’re excited to preview the sculptures to the public that will soon add to the creativity and culture of the Tampa Bay area.”
