Sept. 2, 2015 / Sarasota, Fla. — Men and women from the Church of the Redeemer, 222 S. Palm Ave., Sarasota, will be teeing up on Sat., Sept. 26, at Stoneybrook Golf & Country Club, 8801 Stoneybrook Blvd., Sarasota, for the 20th annual Men of Redeemer Golf Scramble. To mark the second decade of the Scramble, special guest Wayne Garrett, former third basemen for the 1969 “Miracle Mets” World Series champions, will play in this year’s event, a four-person scramble that costs $95 per golfer.
Men of Redeemer have organized the tournament each year since 1995; and it is the only time of year that MOR conducts fundraising. Proceeds support programs such as Redeemer’s Day of Hope, which helps homeless schoolchildren, Cub Scout Pack 24, Families in Crisis, and other men’s ministry programs and activities.
The event is open to the public and participants from around the diocese are welcome. Donations and sponsorships, including corporate sponsorships, are available.
