|Meteorologist Ivan Cabrera joins ABC Action News and the team of meteorologists certified as “the most accurate in the state of Florida.” Cabrera will be the primary meteorologist for The Now Tampa Bay, weekdays at 4pm, and will work with Chief Meteorologist Denis Phillips during ABC Action News evening newscasts 5-6:30pm.
Cabrera is an Emmy and Peabody award-winning broadcast meteorologist with the Television Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society.
Prior to joining ABC Action News, Cabrera worked at CNN World Headquarters. His forecasts were seen on CNN International, CNN, and HLN. He also served as a meteorologist for the WSI Corporation, which included regular appearances on Fox News Channel. His career began as a radio weather anchor for the AP Network News and local market radio stations across the United States.
Born in Cuba, Ivan grew up in Miami. He is a Florida State University graduate. Cabrera is no stranger to forecasting Florida’s changing weather. His past experience includes years of storm tracking in Orlando.
