St. Petersburg, Fla. (August 13, 2015) — Caledon Concepts announced the
completion of an ambitious expansion project at Rococo Steak, the award-winning downtown St. Petersburg fine dining establishment. The intimate new dining room showcases stylish seating, elegant accents and a contemporary wood barrel ceiling—an homage to the winemaking tradition.
The building, originally constructed in 1926, is located at 655 2nd Avenue South. The expansion brings the restaurant footprint to 14,000 square feet and adds 50new seats. An impressive glass-enclosed, climate-controlled wine room allows Rococo Steak to further broaden its wine offering—which in 2015 was the only downtown St. Petersburg restaurant to be awarded the prestigious Wine Spectator “Best of Award of Excellence.” The wine room displays an additional 3,000 bottles to diners. Ideal for private events, the new space also boasts dedicated restrooms and a private entrance.
In addition to the expansion, Rococo Steak has hired renowned chef Matthew
Rainey to head culinary operations. Prior to his move to Rococo Steak, Chef Rainey was executive chef at STK Atlanta, where in 2014 he was named Atlanta’s “Best New Chef” by Jezebel magazine.
“Food and wine are our passions,” remarked Caledon Concepts CEO, Joe Orsino. “The addition of Chef Rainey further enhances Rococo Steak’s already celebrated menu offerings, and the new wine-focused dining room allows us to showcase our commitment to the wine-food relationship.”
