Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) hosted Tampa Bay Rays Baseball Team President Brian Auld as keynote speaker at Rays Up for Leadership, an annual student leadership retreat. Auld addressed a crowd of 180 PHSC students and 70 staff, faculty and guests who attended the event held August 4-5, at Saddlebrook Resort, in Wesley Chapel. Auld is in his first year as team president and tenth season in various operations roles.
Students attended workshops and general sessions to learn about leadership styles and skills, personality types, and more in a dynamic, interactive forum for values-based, purpose-driven, and applied leadership development. “The annual student leadership retreat provides opportunity to become engaged and learn from peers, community and school leaders. When students leave the retreat they have new tools to put to practice in preparation for transition from college to career or college to university,” said John Fey, Assistant Director of Student Engagement and Leadership Development.
