Offers FREE Admission to Aerospace Discovery
LAKELAND, FL – National Aviation Day is Wednesday, August 19, 2015, and to commemorate this historic day SUN ‘n FUN is offering FREE admission to Aerospace Discovery at the Florida Air Museum.
Aerospace Discovery at the Florida Air Museum, the official aviation and education museum of the state of Florida, is the main hub of several aviation learning centers on the SUN ‘n FUN Convention Campus. Entertainment and education are combined while exploring the history and the future of aerospace. Along with historic and informative displays around the facility such as Howard Hughes’ personal aviation collection and the award winning Innovations in Propulsion exhibit, interactive learning stations challenge students of all ages to accomplish tasks while competing for the highest scores. Simulators offer the in-flight experience that often leads to enrollment in future flight training.
“Aviation is one of the single most important industries we have, because it effects just about every other industry in some fashion, “ said SUN ‘n FUN President & CEO John R. “Lites” Leenhouts. “As we’re reminded about the lasting impacts our industry has had, as well as those to come if we don’t continue to infuse more talented individuals into the industry, we feel like this is a great opportunity to open our doors at no charge for this day and give young people a chance to experience the excitement! We want to continue to inspire, and this gives us a great opportunity to do that.”
Aerospace Discovery at the Florida Air Museum is located on the SUN ‘n FUN Convention Campus and is open Wednesday from 10am to 4pm. For additional hours, rates, days of operation and details regarding the museum, visit www.sun-n-fun.org.
