Tampa—August 2015—Doubletake Studios, a marketing and PR agency with diverse experience in Business-to-Business and Business-to-Consumer clientele, welcomed Russ Barmmer to their team this month. At Doubletake Studios, Barmmer will serve as a Senior Consultant and provide his public relations expertise for business development, client positioning strategies, and campaign management across several of the agency’s accounts.
Barmmer has spent the majority of his public relations and advertising career creating and directing consumer and business marketing campaigns that launched new products, shaped public opinion, and favorably positioned enterprises of all sizes. Upon forming his own agency in New York City (1979), Barmmer planned and managed the nationwide public relations launch for such organizations as the Boy Scouts of America, where he worked with renowned fashion designer Oscar de la Renta who volunteered to re-design the family of Boy Scout uniforms. He managed investor relations for NASDAQ-based Comverse Technology and the Children’s Discovery Center of America and conceived the public relations program that launched the first hand-held grocery scanner from Symbol Technologies. He helped numerous clients appear on network TV, CNN and in Fortune, Business Week, Wall Street Journal and New York Times.
“I feel very fortunate to have someone of Russ’ caliber on our Doubletake Team. His incredible knowledge in public relations and marketing will be an enormous asset to our clients. They will have access to his vast experience in Personal, Corporate and Product public relations opportunities”, said Terri Hall, President of Doubletake.
A Connecticut native, Barmmer formerly taught journalism at UCONN and served as President of the statewide Connecticut Industrial Editors Association. He holds a B.S. in Public Relations from Boston University and attended Fairfield University’s Graduate School of Corporate and Political Communication. He served in the US Army, where he founded and edited a Post newspaper for 2,000 civilian employees and 500 military personnel while also acting as the base’s Public Information Officer. Away from the office, Barmmer represented his town as an elected member of the Board of Education, serving as Vice-chairman and Chairman. He was also President of the local Youth and Family Services Agency.
