Daynet Vega, MD will offer comprehensive neurologic care from her offices on the 3rd floor of Watson Clinic’s Main location at 1600 Lakeland Hills Boulevard in Lakeland. Dr. Vega’s particular area of expertise is in the diagnosis and management of epilepsy. Pediatrician Sheena H. Tonkin, MD has joined the team at our South location at 1033 N. Parkway Frontage Rd. in Lakeland. Dr. Tonkin will offer comprehensive pediatric care including child wellness visits, immunizations, preventative care, newborn care and the management of acute and chronic pediatric conditions. Urgent Care specialist Joseph E. Dessent, DO will serve the needs of patients who seek walk-in care from our Urgent Care department at Watson Clinic’s Main location on 1600 Lakeland Hills Boulevard in Lakeland.
Dr. Vega received her medical degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. She completed an internship in internal medicine at the University of Florida – Shands Hospital/North Florida VA Medical Center in Gainesville, FL, where she also performed her residency in neurology and her fellowship in clinical neurophysiology. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurophysiology, the American Academy of Neurology, the American Epilepsy Society, the Academy of Clinical Neurophysiology and the Polk County Medical Association.
Dr. Tonkin received her medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, NY. She completed her internship and residency in pediatrics at Eastern Virginia Medical School/Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk, VA. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association and the Polk County Medical Association.
Dr. Dessent received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddleford, ME. He completed his internship in family medicine at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, and his residency in family medicine from the Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, ME. He is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Osteopathic Association, the American Medical Association and the Polk County Medical Association. He is board-certified in family medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine.
