Tampa, Florida (July 30, 2015) – Tampa Community Hospital announces the appointment of Michael Veri, MLS (ASCP) (Medical Laboratory Scientist – American Society of Clinical Pathology) as its new Laboratory Director. Mr. Veri comes to Tampa Community Hospital from the 345th Combat Support Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he also served as Laboratory Director.
Mr. Veri has extensive experience in the academic, military and healthcare fields. Mr. Veri’s diverse clinical experience as both a medical laboratory specialist, noncommissioned officer in the United States Army, and Laboratory Director of the 180 bed 345th Combat Support Hospital make him the perfect candidate for his new position.
He will complete a Master of Science degree in chemistry from the University of South Florida in August 2015. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a minor in biology from the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. Mr. Veri also completed basic officer leadership courses, instructor training courses as well as a wide range of clinical programs including completion of a NAACLS approved course in clinical laboratory science and an AS degree in clinical laboratory science at George Washington University in Washington, DC.
