Spring Hill, Florida (July 22, 2015) – NAMI Hernando announces its FREE 6-week NAMI Basics educational program will begin on Tuesday, September 15 at 6:30 pm at the NAMI Beautiful Mind Center, 10554 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34608.
The NAMI Basics program is for parents and caregivers of children and adolescents living with mental illness. It is taught by trained teachers who have raised a child who developed mental illness before the age of 13.
The goal of the program is to teach the basic information necessary to take the best care possible of the children, the family, and the participants themselves, and to help participants cope with the impact of mental illness.
Topics will include:

[if !supportLists]· [endif]Communication skills, problem solving, crisis preparation and response, handling challenging behaviors, relapse planning
