St. Petersburg, Fla. (July 20, 2015) – WiLD 94.1 and The Mahaffey Theater present the fourth annual Shut Up and Laugh comedy event Saturday, Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. Shut Up and Laugh will feature four comedy stars from hit NBC shows – including Undateable’s Chris D’Elia, Jerrod Carmichael and Tiffany Hadish of The Carmichael Show, and Saturday Night Live featured player Pete Davidson.
As Danny Burton, the responsibility-challenged ringleader of a group of 30-something misfits on NBC’s comedy hit Undateable, Chris D’Elia is seen by five million viewers each week. Named by Variety as one of the country’s “Top 10 Comics to Watch,” D’Elia also stars in the Netflix standup special Incorrigible.
Jerrod Carmichael is the creator, star and co-writer of the situation comedy The Carmichael Show, premiering Aug. 5 on NBC. His HBO comedy special Love at the Store premiered in 2014. Carmichael also appeared in Seth Rogan’s Neighbors.
One of the youngest featured players in the history of Saturday Night Live (he was brought on board by Lorne Michaels for the 40th season), Pete Davidson was also hailed as one of Variety’s “Top 10 Comics to Watch.” Davidson is in theaters now in the Judd Apatow film Trainwreck, with Amy Schumer.
Although Tiffany Haddish is best known for her performance as Jackie on the OWN soap opera If Loving You is Wrong, she is an established comedian and actress whose film appearances have included Meet the Spartans and The Janky Promoters. She’ll also be on NBC this fall in The Carrmichael Show.
