TAMPA, FL. — July 15, 2015. The Florida State Fair Authority is seeking nominations for outstanding African American, Asian/Pacific, and Hispanic individuals who exemplify a commitment to excellence and have enhanced Florida’s rich heritage and culture within their respective communities. Nominees must be of African American, Asian/Pacific, or Hispanic descent and may be from the public or private sector.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: The nomination deadline is August 31, 2015. Please review the nomination criteria included in the nomination form before submitting your candidate for nomination.

All nominations will be reviewed by the Fair Authority’s Diversity Appreciation Advisory Committee who will choose up to five candidates/nominees from each minority group. The public will then get to vote for their favorite nominee to determine who will be selected for the honor. Voting will begin on September 15, 2015 online at www.floridastatefair.com. Honorees will be recognized on the Wall of Fame at the 2016 Florida State Fair. The honorees and/or their immediate family members (if the nominee is deceased) will be invited to the ceremony and presentation which will take place during the 2016 Florida State Fair.
The 112th annual Florida State Fair will take place February 4-15, 2016. Operating under the direction of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and its Board members, the Florida State Fair Authority, located on the fairgrounds’ 330 acres in Tampa, Florida, strives to create positive entertainment experiences through the annual State Fair and variety of year-round events and quality competitive programs. The FSFA is committed to agriculture, education and community service with a focus on new opportunities. The Florida State Fair Authority (FSFA) operates strictly from revenues generated from the annual State Fair and other events throughout the year. Although the FSFA is an instrumentality of the state of Florida, it does not receive any annual tax appropriations from the City of Tampa, Hillsborough County or the State.
