LAKELAND, FL (July 10, 2015) — Kris Keprios and Jessica Taylor of Polk County Tourism and Sports Marketing (PCTSM) will discuss the growing trend of using digital marketing to publicize events as guest speakers at the July professional development meeting of the Dick Pope/Polk County chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA).
The meeting is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15 at the Cleveland Heights Golf & Country Club in Lakeland and is open to the public. FPRA extends a
special invitation to those involved in publicizing organizations and special events.
In their talk titled “Digital Marketing and Resources: Leveraging Good Publicity,” Keprios and Taylor will acquaint public relations professionals with the digital marketing and other promotional resources, including grants, available to them through PCTSM, the official visitors and convention bureau for Polk County.
“Kris and Jessica will not only share valuable insights on digital marketing, but also explain how publicists can make use of the digital marketing and other promotional tools offered by PCTSM,” said Amy Wiggins, president of the host FPRA chapter. In his role as PCTSM’s Tourism Sales and Marketing Manager, Keprios develops and manages PCTSM’s strategic marketing plan, including advertising, sales and special events to promote Polk County as a tourism destination throughout the U.S. and internationally.
He also oversees PCTSM’s involvement in consumer travel shows, group travel, meetings and conventions, and other tourism sales initiatives. Keprios joined PCTSM in 2003 as an intern while attending Florida Southern College in Lakeland.
As the agency’s Internet & E-marketing Specialist, Taylor develops and maintains the content for PCTSM’s three websites and two blogs. She also creates electronic marketing strategies for Visit Central Florida and Central Florida’s Polk County Sports Marketing, for the promotion of tourism and sports in Polk County.
Taylor also works with staff to maintain an editorial calendar that ensures all of PCTSM’s marketing efforts follow the same theme and schedule on multiple websites, blogs, e-newsletters, and throughout social media. Prior to joining PCTSM, she was a Network Manager for Polk County Public Schools.
The chapter’s professional development meetings are on the third Wednesday of every month and are open to the public, with an advance reservation and breakfast fee of $15 for FPRA members and $20 for non members required.
