Pasco-Hernando State College now offers degree and certificate programs in engineering technology. Courses for these programs will be available in the upcoming fall semester, beginning
August 24, 2015. The engineering technology program is designed to prepare students for employment in high technology fields such as advanced manufacturing. The program also responds to the needs of regional advanced manufacturing businesses.
The Engineering Technology Associate in Science degree will teach engineering principles that solve complex manufacturing problems using computer-aided design and evaluation and simulation techniques.
Students can gain a competitive edge in the field and earn technical certificates while completing the degree requirements. Available certificates include Manufacturing Skills Standards Council Certified Production Technician (MSSC-CPT), Engineering Technology Support, and Pneumatics, Hydraulics and Motors for Manufacturing. Initial course offerings will include classes in Computer Aided Drafting, Industrial Safety, and Manufacturing Processes and Materials, among others.
