The “13 ugly Men” Foundation a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization is proud to announce another event as they continue to “party for a purpose” on Saturday July 4th at “Ferg’s Live” in Downtown Tampa.
Tampa, FL (June, 26, 2015) – The “Red, White & Brew” event will kick off at 7pm and play host to live music from country/ rock band “Soul Circus Cowboys” and DJ Barry Carew. The event will feature what the 13 Ugly Men have been known for since being funded in the mid 1990’s…some of the most fashionable ladies in the Bay Area joining a crowd that will feature select domestic & craft beers in conjunction with Pepin Distributors, specialty Tito’s Handmade Vodka cocktails, a great view of the fireworks from the Channelside area and of course, a cause that is more than worthy of the $10 cover charge which is going to benefit the “Southeastern Guide Dogs” (www.GuideDogs.org) which trains dogs to help soldiers with PTSD through their Paws For Patriots program. “We wanted to form new events in addition to our signature White Party, Halloween Party, and Get Roasted events” said President David Moyer.

Those that have ever been to a 13 Ugly Men event know that they know how to throw a party. The “White Party” that was held at the Seminole Hard Rock in mid-April raised $25,000 for “Hands Across The Bay” which helps victims of domestic violence. The all new “Ferg’s Live” located across from Amalie Arena in Downtown Tampa is the perfect backdrop to witness the fireworks as well as play some great bar games which will be set up on the Ferg’s spacious patio. The “Red, White & Brew” party is encouraging attire fitting with the theme (Red, White & Blue) and fully expect a great crowd to enjoy the mix of live music, DJ spinning country / top 40 mash up, craft & domestic brews, specialty themed cocktails and of course the use of “Ferg’s Live” amazing venue they have built to entice the booming Downtown scene to be a part of. “We are a proud organization of Gentleman who are blessed to be able to give back to our community in a non-traditional fashion” said Moyer. “When we choose to hold an event, you can guarantee that we are going to put 100% into people having a great time and of course, partying for a purpose”.

The “13 Ugly Men” first appeared in the Tampa area in the 1990’s as a group of 13 Founding Members who hosted fantastic parties, and wanted to improve our community by giving back. By encouraging Tampa Bay to “Party With a Purpose”, the reputation of the original 13 grew steadily, and by the late 90’s, they were ready to take the next step. In December of 1998, The “13 Ugly Men” Foundation was incorporated in the State of Florida as a 501(c)3 not-forprofit organization. Over the subsequent years, the Foundation has raised well in excess of a half million dollars for deserving charities and causes around Tampa Bay. The Foundation is an ardent supporter of charities and organizations that benefit children’s issues, women’s issues, crisis intervention, law enforcement and our military men and women.
Currently comprised of thirty-one (31) members, the Foundation is led by its Board of Directors, currently numbering six, including the President. The “13 Ugly Men” are proud to operate the Foundation with a 0% administrative overhead, which means that none of the proceeds from our events are used to pay for any operational expenses incurred by the Foundation in the normal course of business. Private donations, received annually from each member, ensure that 100% of the proceeds from our events reaches those in need. The “13 Ugly Men” host up to five events annually. Our signature event is the White Party, held each year in the latter part of April. We also feature the Halloween Freakshow, held on the Friday preceding Halloween, and Get Roasted, held on the night before Thanksgiving. Other events are scheduled as opportunities arise, including select New Years, St Patrick’s Day and summer events. The “13 Ugly Men” have been honored with numerous awards throughout the years, including the Champions for Children Award (2009), presented by Voices for Children, the Business Partner of the Year Award (2012), presented by the Tampa Police Department, and the Tampa Bay Lightning Community Hero Honor (2015).
