TAMPA, Fla. (January 13, 2014) – WUSF Public Media announced the addition of Tom Hall to its Partners Board. A Tampa Bay native with more than 30 years of advertising, marketing and public relations experience, Hall will join the board in advising and assisting WUSF leadership to promote and achieve WUSF’s mission and vision.
Hall is chairman of Tucker/Hall, a national public relations and communications consulting firm specializing in the areas of strategic communications, public affairs and crisis management. He works with corporations, government entities and nonprofit organizations. Chairman of the Florida Aquarium Foundation, Hall led the effort in securing the pivotal cornerstone project for downtown Tampa.
Prior to Tucker/Hall, Hall developed a nationally recognized system of media partnering to run public service advertising campaigns for the Governor’s Partnership for a Drug-Free Florida. He headed Ensslin & Hall Advertising and Public Relations, one of the largest marketing firms in the South which he sold in 1988; developed Creative Seminar programs now owned by Adweek magazine; and founded Hall Equity Corporation, a real estate holding company with properties in four Florida counties. His book on business strategy and organizational design, titled “Ruthless Focus,” received the endorsement of the American Management Association.
“With his decades of experience as a forward-thinking business leader, Tom’s addition is an asset to our organization,” said Mark Sena, Board Chair of WUSF. “His vision for our community is well aligned with that of WUSF which makes him a natural fit.”
“Tom is an exceptional member of the Tampa Bay community, and we are honored to have him join our board” said JoAnn Urofsky, general manager of WUSF Public Media. “We look forward to working with him on innovative ideas and development strategies for our growing station.”
