On Tuesday, December 16, 2014, the City of Brooksville’s Beautification Board toured the streets of Brooksville and selected winners for the Residential and Commercial categories of the “Best Christmas Decorations of 2014” awards.
Honorable Mention in the Residential category goes to 914 Hammock Road – Beatrice & Karen Brunet; 234 Early Street – Pearly Mae Delaine and 516 Howell Avenue – Norman Tuvell. Honorable Mention in the Commercial category goes to 5 N. Main Street – House of Passage; 510 E. Liberty Street – Westover’s Flowers & Gifts; 1114 Chatman Blvd. – Brooksville Healthcare Center; 937 E. Jefferson Street – Town and Country Equipment and 200 West Fort Dade Avenue – The Tilted Teacup. The Christmas Spirit Award goes to Southern Hills Plantation Club.
Second place in the Residential category goes to 152 Highland Street – Robert & Rita Miller. Second place in the Commercial category goes to 1112 E. Jefferson Street – Coney Island Drive Inn.
And now the moment you all have been waiting for….the winner for the “Best Residential Christmas Decorations of 2014” goes to 615 Garden Street – Howard & Mary Pearson. Last, but certainly not least, the winner for the “Best Commercial Christmas Decorations of 2014” goes to 295 Howell Avenue – The Gallery of the Arts and Antiques.
Award winners will be recognized for their Christmas spirit by Beautification Board Chairman Scott Renz along with the Brooksville City Council during Council’s Regular Session on Monday, January 5, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. “Best Christmas Decorations of 2014” winners will be presented with a plaque, along with a recognition gift, and the Second Place and Honorable Mention winners will be presented with a Certificate of Recognition.
