On Thursday, December 18th, the Bradenton FireFighters Association (BFFA) will deliver holiday spirit to Community Haven for Adults and Children with Disabilities. Located at 4405 DeSoto Road in Sarasota, “The Haven” has been empowering the lives of children, teens, and adults with disabilities for 60+ years. Currently offered services include The Selby Preschool, Haven Industries Adult Work program, Transitions Services, Employment Services, Community Living, Kaleidoscope, The Selby McKay School and the Upscale Resale Shop.
For more than 40 years, dozens of current and retired Bradenton Fire Department (BFD) personnel have come together to serve lunch to all children, adult clients, and staff of The Haven. And for the second year, the BFFA is pleased to welcome Tijuana Flats as a partner in lunch service! Along with lunch, Santa and his elves stop by on their 1926 American LaFrance fire truck ‘sleigh’ to visit and deliver gifts.
Questions about the event may be directed to Captain Dana Tindall (aka “Fire Elf”) or Fire Chief Chuck Edwards at 941-932-9625.
