TAMPA, FL — The South Tampa Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce their 2015 Board of Directors. Samantha Dammer, the Managing Attorney and Founder of Tampa Law Advocates, P.A., a private law firm serving the Tampa Bay community will serve as chair beginning on February 1, 2015. “I am very excited about being Chairman of the South Tampa Chamber of Commerce next year. It is truly an honor to lead such an excellent Chamber as we move forward into a new stage of development. As Chair, my goal will be to increase the visibility of South Tampa as a place to do business,” said Dammer.
Bill Yanger, attorney and founder of Yanger Law Group P.A. will become the Chair-Elect. Amanda May of the Tampa Bay Times returns as Secretary and Dan Kelly of Winn-Dixie will become the Treasurer. Mike Jenkins of Caldeco Air Conditioning and Heating and Julie McAdoo, owner of Refresh Your Nest Cleaning Services will also serve on the executive committee.
Newly elected to serve the 2015-2018 directors term are Ed Siler of Troy University, Penny Rogo owner of MamaRazzi foto and Michelle Dyer of the Centre Club. Harry Cohen, the Tampa City Council Chair Pro Tem, Sally Harris, Hillsborough County School Board member and owner of Circle C Ranch, Terry Montrose of MacDill Air Force Base and Kevnie Tolliver of Bright House Networks have been appointed to serve one year terms.
Current board members who will continue their term on the board are Dave Caban of Pure Digital Marketing, Andrew Hall of Hallmark CPA Group, Karen Mertes the founder of Fulfill Your Destiny and Hillsborough County Commission Board Chair Sandra Murman.
The current Chair of the Chamber’s Board and owner of Shining Star Insurance, Starr Tyrka, said, “I am proud of the growth and success our Chamber experienced this year. We appointed a new CEO and hired additional support staff, increased our membership by over 100 new members, were named the number one favorite chamber in Tampa Bay and are in the process of moving into a new and larger office space. I am confident that with Samantha’s leadership, our organization will continue to grow and flourish. There is a lot of momentum behind us right now and the future is very bright for the South Tampa Chamber!” Tyrka will also return to the board and serve on the executive committee as the immediate past chair.
