Sarasota-based general contractor and construction management firm, Kellogg & Kimsey, Inc., successfully completed the build out of shell space at the University Town Center for the Kona Grill.
The eclectic American menu with an Asian flair satisfies a wide array of palates, including sushi, for which the Ahi Tuna is brought in daily from Hawaii. The interior décor can be fully enjoyed whether sitting at the sushi bar or in the open dining area, which features a 600-gallon salt-water aquarium, bamboo wall coverings, tables, light fixtures and accents throughout. The interior finishes are comprised of over 20 types of tile and 10 colors of paint, covering radius and diagonal soffits, emphasizing the unique design aspects of this restaurant.
A beautiful and serene water feature completes the outside dining experience which is comfortable year-round, with seating around 2 custom-built Fire Tables and added warmth from 6 Italian lava heat lamps during the winter, to aqua misters for the warmer months.
Kona Grill has a total of 10 flat-screen TVs inside and out, seating 294 comfortably with a maximum capacity of 426. The inside seating area is approximately 7,000 square feet with another 2,200 outside.
