Sarasota, December 4, 2014 – All Faiths Food Bank celebrated its dedicated and hard-working volunteers at a luncheon held at Temple Emanu-el this week. Awards were given for outstanding service this year, and close to 100 volunteers and staff attended.
Intercoastal Medical Group and Hyatt Regency Sarasota were recognized for ongoing support as Corporate Volunteers, and award categories included the largest event food drive which went to Big Cat Habitat; Bowls of Hope potter award was accepted by Carla O’Brien of Carla’s Clay; Veteran’s program volunteer of the year went to Paulette Saggio, and 90-year-old Millie Beldon was honored for her 25 years of volunteering since All Faith Food Bank opened its doors.
More than 3,000 volunteers help All Faiths Food Bank feed residents in Sarasota and DeSoto Counties by sorting donated food at its 20,000 square foot warehouse, helping at mobile pantry and Sprout Route distribution sites, packing food for the BackPack Kids program, and organizing community events.
“Our work could not be done without our volunteers,” said Sandra Frank, CEO. “They are amazing and generous people who work tirelessly, and we are grateful for their efforts every day.”
