CLEARWATER, Fla. – National Aviation Academy welcomes the community to its Aviation Games Open House on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 6225 Ulmerton Rd.
The day will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly renovated aviation lab at 10 a.m., followed by the Aviation Games competition. In this competition, students are broken up into teams of five and have the opportunity to showcase the skills they’ve acquired at NAA through various maintenance task events.
Other entertainment throughout the day includes a dunk tank, kids’ activities and a benefit cornhole tournament, with a buy-in of $10 per person. Registration and practice will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the tournament at 10 a.m. First, second and third place winners will receive cash prizes. Hamburgers, hot dogs and refreshments are available for purchase. All proceeds from this event will go toward funding the students’ trip to Miami in April for the Aerospace Maintenance Competition.
Those interested in pursuing a career in the aviation industry are encouraged to attend the information sessions and take a tour of the campus. Information sessions are held at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and will cover a wide range of topics including career services, student services, tuition and financial aid, the sectors of aviation and the growing demand for aviation professionals. Admissions representatives will be available after each session to answer questions and help potential students fill out their applications to NAA.
NAA trains aircraft maintenance technicians at facilities in Clearwater, Fla. and Bedford, Mass. Exceptional skills, professionalism and excellence are instilled to meet the growing demands of the aviation industry.
