Southwest FL – As our leader Troy Scott presided over his last monthly meeting for 2014, he did so to a room that was over-flowing with happy, alert and energetic people. The program speaker topic, Domestic Security, helped with the positive draw but
other factors were also at play.
Many people were re-connecting after their long summer absence and no doubt a few attendees were anxious to get a jump on the first seasonal slice of turkey. There was still another cluster who showed up because it was the last chance to place an in-person friendly wager on the up-coming Army/Navy grid iron confrontation and a few were there to vote on hard working members of our
2015 leadership group.
And if all those reasons were not enough to fill the hall to maximum capacity, no doubt some were there just to confirm that “men are truly no longer required to wear neckties”!
Special Agent John Burke provided an interesting overview of the infrastructure for law enforcement in Florida and why it is often different from other states. He provided a fun recount of a couple of incidents where the bad guys tended to weave their own closing web and he provided confidence that the various agencies and law enforcement departments are now working together better than ever before.
