Arnie Stewart lived for most of his life without knowing how to read and write. His background of extreme poverty living in northern Ontario, Canada generated a will to survive and inspire others to do the same. Arnie never learned to read and write as the education system pushed him forward every year. By telling his story, Arnie hoped the system would change for the better but he needed help. Janet Lee was a high school English teacher who teamed up with Arnie to make these changes happen. Together, they traveled to over 72 audiences telling Arnie’s inspiring story of hope. This adventure is now a feature film screenplay in the revision process.
