WINNING STUDENTS WILL GET A SURPRISE VISIT FROM WATTSON & $100 CASH
LAKELAND, FL (November 18, 2014) – City of Lakeland officials and members from Lakeland Electric will be visiting local elementary schools to award students whose artwork was chosen to be represented in Lakeland Electric’s 2015 Electrical Safety Calendar. Eighteen elementary schools participated and there were over 800 entries. A team of judges chose the winning 12 pieces of art based on artistic value and each rendering had to portray an electrical safety message.
Joel Ivy, General Manager of Lakeland Electric said, “In the past, Lakeland Electric distributed a yearly calendar with artwork from elementary students. The electrical safety calendar was very popular and we are excited to resurrect the project.”
A group from Lakeland Electric and the City of Lakeland including Wattson, Lakeland Electric’s mascot will visit each winning student’s school starting Wednesday, November 19th. The schedule for the school visits is listed below.

9:45 a.m. Rochelle School of the Arts 2 winners

Friday, November 21st
8:45 a.m. Medulla
Each winning student will be given a $100 cash award and a framed piece of their own artwork. The student’s don’t know that they have won and it will be a complete surprise.
