ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Lance Rodgers Fine Art is happy to announce it is participating in LocalShops1’s Shopapalooza Festival 2014. The event takes place 10 AM to 7 PM, Saturday, November 22 at South Straub Park in downtown St. Petersburg. Admission is free
“I decided to participate in Shopapalooza because I think it’s important that we encourage people to buy local. We haven’t featured my fine art hand painted photographs in a while and thought this would be a great venue to have them available as gifts for the holidays. Art is a personal one-of-a-kind gift that will last a lifetime…there’s value in that, said Lance Rodgers, artist.
Rodgers felt that this would be a perfect venue to offer fine art at an affordable price point. Each of the pieces is unique, is framed and ready to go with special offers for Shopapalooza shoppers only.
The annual event, known as Tampa Bay’s Local Alternative to Black Friday, features swag, sales and prizes from more than 120 independently owned businesses and artists in the Tampa Bay region. The event also features live entertainment, demonstrations and more. Some of the area’s top institutions and nonprofit organizations, including the Dali Museum, Mahaffey Theater, American Stage Theater, CASA and Creative Clay will be represented.
The day long event also features The Children’s Zone sponsored by Great Explorations Children’s Museum and will feature activities and crafts. This year’s entertainment includes a live band, specially choreographed “Buy Local” performances, a hot pepper competition and well as strolling entertainment.
“Shopapalooza is a way to celebrate and spotlight the great independent businesses that make Tampa Bay such an amazing place, says Ester Venousiou, LocalShops 1 founder. “It gives consumers the opportunity to kick off the holiday shopping season by shopping locally.”
