Sarasota, FL- On October 14th, more than 1600 guests attended Key to the Cure at the brand new Saks store located at UTC. This year’s event kicked off a four day shopping-event. The event is representative of a nearly decade old partnership between Saks Fifth Avenue and Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation, Inc.
This year’s star studded leadership was provided by noteworthy chairs such as Aimee Cogan, Alex Miller, Ariane Dart and honorary Chair Margaret Wise. The “Key to the Cure” event benefited women’s cancer programs at Sarasota Memorial Health Care System and netted approximately $ 162,303 bridging the gap to the million dollar mark. This was an increase of more than $ 70,000 over 2013. CEO Alex Quarles of Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation said “this year’s event was the most amazing event yet and the dollars raised will stay local as we continue to support those in need of cancer treatment services”. Some of this year’s prize winners were Susan Jones who won the NY Fashion Week package with first class airfare included from local jetsetter AEROIQ, Mollie Nelson who won 2 VIP concert tickets to AC/DC concerts, and PNC Bank who won the Sarasota Yacht Club Premier Package.
