(Bradenton, FL) Manatee Community Action Agency, Inc. (MCAA) received a $1,500 grant from the Lakewood Ranch Community Fund of the Manatee Community Foundation. Grant funds will be used to help provide transportation, including bus passes and gas cards, for low-income residents in our community.
“We are grateful to the Lakewood Ranch Community Fund of the Manatee Community Foundation for recognizing, and fulfilling a need within our community,” said Barbara Patten, MCAA Executive Director. “For people who live in poverty, lack of transportation can have major implications – the inability to get to school or work, missing a crucial doctor’s appointment, or difficulty making bill payments. This grant will go a long way toward helping MCAA fulfill its mission of helping people in our community move closer to the goal of long-term self-sufficiency.”
