The City of Brooksville and Hernando County Government invite you to join them for the 2014 “Christmas on Main Street” on Thursday, December 11, 2014, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Stroll down Main Street in downtown Brooksville and enjoy an old-fashioned Christmas! Main Street, between Jefferson and Broad Streets, will be closed to thru-traffic; many of the downtown merchants will be open extended hours as well as offering holiday treats and entertainment!
Kicking off the night…from 5:15 until 6:45 pm, find out if you’re on the naughty or nice list and enjoy a visit and photo session with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the House of Passage (directly across from the historic Courthouse).
Back by popular demand…Patricia’s Boutique will feature a live display window “Patricia’s Windows Comes to Life” – live models dressed in beautiful gowns! Brookstone Wines will offer a free wine tasting with samples of their seasonal Green Apple Harvest. “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” will be shown at Main Street Eatery (with popcorn, of course). Children, bring your parents by Wild Ivy’s and Karma Couture to enter their 3rd annual coloring contest to win some awesome prizes!
New this year…Rising Sun Bistro & Market will be hosting Christmas Cookie Decorating; artwork by Spring Hill Artists will be on display at Easy Street Home Décor; and a Meet & Greet with a photo opportunity with Rudolph at Little Lady Café. Plus we can’t forget about our fabulous street vendors selling their holiday wares! Just about something for everyone!
At 7:00 p.m., the lighting of the Christmas Tree will take place, followed by an hour of holiday entertainment. The program will be videotaped by Hernando County Government Broadcasting and aired throughout the holidays on Bright House Channel 622 and webstreamed at www.hernandocounty.us. Call (352) 540- 6777 for television broadcast times. Be sure to bring your own chairs.
