Fourth Annual Event to Benefit the Housing and Education Alliance
Tampa, FL – The backdrop of broad boulevards, narrow cobbled streets and Spanish colonial buildings whose patina shades of blues and greens, or jaded yellows, appear to enhance charm rather than define age, provide the idyllic framework for the fourth annual HEART Awards to benefit the Housing and Education Alliance, a HUD certified housing counseling agency. HEA will pay tribute to both the unsung heroes and community champions of housing during the organization’s fourth annual HEART Awards on Friday, April 24, 2015 at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay. A city rich in history, alive with music and that parties all night has inspired this highly-anticipated event to move to a Friday night and celebrate the true HEART of Havana as well as individual success stories from the Housing and Education’s constituents and the recipients of the awards themselves which include: Housing, Homelessness, Real Estate, Collaboration, Finance, Volunteerism, Education and Leadership.
Led by a Lissette Campos of ABC Action News, a celebration of achievement is at the heart of this dinner and awards program which is recognized as one of the community’s most meaningful and respected events. Net proceeds from the 2015 HEART (H = housing E = education A = alliance R = residential T = triumph) Awards will support the nonprofit organizations’ year-round efforts to provide and sustain homeownership opportunities through services in homebuyer education, counseling, lending and development. But following the heartfelt stories of achievement and conquering seemingly insurmountable odds, the party continues. Havana is about wandering through the streets filled with cigar smoke, rum and sensual salsa; of people-watching, pausing for a mojito or marveling at the reliability of the 1950s Chevys that flash past in a range of vivid reds, pale blues, purple, deep green, yellows and pinks, complementing the pallor of the architecture. All of this and more will come alive during the fourth annual HEART Awards that will kick off with a reception and auction bazaar at 6 pm, followed by dinner, awards and a party that continues until 11 pm.
Since 2002, the Housing and Education Alliance has served over 30,000 families; and more than 7,000 families since the start of the foreclosure crisis. Tickets for the April 24th awards dinner benefit these efforts and range from $125 per person, $1,500 for a “Friend” table of 10 or to $2,000 for a “Neighbor” table of 10.
