World’s Largest RV Dealership honors veterans and military personnel in November
Tampa, Fla. (October 31, 2014) – Lazydays, the RV Authority, has announced it will launch a “Military Appreciation” fundraiser in both the Tampa and Tucson locations. The month-long November initiative will support distinct military charities in each city, both designed to provide assistance to families of U.S. service men and women who have been injured in the line of duty. In addition to the fundraiser, there will be special savings for all Lazydays customers and discounts for all active and veteran military throughout the month.
“Military appreciation is very important to us at Lazydays,” said Lazydays Chief Marketing Officer John Lebbad. “We have 198 veterans on our team at Lazydays and we deeply appreciate their courageous service to our country and the value they bring to this company. Over the years we have also seen many veterans come through our doors who are avid RVers and loyal Lazydays customers. We want to salute all veterans, active and injured military personnel in America and thank them for their service and bravery.”
In Tampa, the funds raised will benefit Operation Helping Hand (Op HH), a local non-profit organization founded in 2004 to provide assistance and support wounded and injured active duty military being treated at the James A. Haley VA Hospital, and their families. Active duty military are transferred from Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Bethesda National Naval Medical Center or from one of many other military medical centers to the Veterans’ Hospital in Tampa. They arrive with injuries such as Blindness, Amputations, Blast Injuries, Burns, Brain Injuries and Spinal Cord Injuries.
In Tucson, the funds raised will benefit the Arizona Fisher House which will provide a “home away from home” for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers. There are currently 64 Fisher Houses throughout the United States and Germany. Tucson has been selected as the Arizona location for a new Fisher House. The Fisher House Foundation will match funds raised to build the House.
Funds will be raised and donated in two ways:
1. $50 for every RV sold in the month of November will go directly to the local charities in each city
2. $1 per each new fan (like) on Facebook (up to $2000) will be donated and divided between both charities
In addition to the fundraising campaign, Lazydays will also offer special pricing discounts to active and veteran military throughout the month of November. The discounts include: 20% off service labor and parts (Tampa and Tucson), 50% off campsite at Lazydays Campground in Tampa and 20% off Lazydays Store purchases (Tampa and Tucson). All Lazydays customers will also enjoy special savings throughout the month of November in honor of Military Appreciation Month.

About Operation Helping Hand
Formed in 2004 as a special initiative of the Tampa Chapter of Military Officers Association of America, Operation Helping Hand (Op HH) is a devoted humanitarian effort dedicated to providing support for U.S. military active duty personnel wounded/injured abroad and being cared for at the James A. About Arizona Fisher House
On July 11, 2011, the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System in Tucson was approved as the future host site for an Arizona Fisher House serving Arizona Veterans and Veteran referrals from their states. A Fisher House is “a home away from home” for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers. There are 64 Fisher Houses located in the United States and Germany. The Arizona Fisher House Foundation has been charged with raising 3 million dollars from corporate and private donors by the end of 2014. The National Fisher House Foundation will provide a matching contribution to complete construction. The Arizona Fisher House will be located on the SAVAHCS Tucson campus, accessible to the hospital complex a historic Spanish Mission Style architecture rising out of the desert, providing a prominent panorama visible from all major highways in the southern part of the city. The new Fisher House will offer 12-16 suites with private bathrooms and will also include a large living area, kitchen, and laundry facility for Veteran family members living greater than 50 miles away.
