About the Speaker
Steve Smith is president/creative director of Stephen A. Smith & Associates, and publisher/creative director at Consonant Custom Media. His passion is the strategic management of brands, identity and image. He’s an award winning Creative Director and strategist with 30 years of experience in marketing communications. He has worked with clients in healthcare, technology, economic development and financial services, including major brands like Subaru, AT&T, Uniroyal Engineered Products, Osteonics and the Adventist Health System.
Smith has received numerous ADDY awards in recognition of creative excellence, as well as the Advertising Federation’s “Ad Man of the Year” award. He is a past president of AdFed Suncoast, the local chapter of the American Advertising Federation, a guest lecturer at Ringling College of Art and Design, and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. While serving as AAF-Fourth District public service chair, he led the team that created the statewide Alzheimer’s Awareness Campaign, We CAN Florida.
The Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) has been serving Florida public relations professionals for 70 years, having been founded in 1938 by Lt. Col. John W. Dillin. FPRA is the oldest public relations organization in the United States. There are 15 professional chapters and many university chapters located throughout Florida, including the Central West Coast Chapter. The Central West Coast Chapter was formed in 1966 and has more than 80 members from Sarasota, Manatee and DeSoto counties.
