Tampa, Fla. – The Patel Conservatory will offer an On-Camera Casting Master Class with Miami-based casting director Ellen Jacoby on Saturday, Nov. 15, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 16, 1-5 p.m.
Jacoby, one of the most in-demand casting directors in the industry, will hold an intensive two-day workshop appropriate for anyone in grade five through adult who is working in, or aspiring to work in, the film business.
In this workshop, students will hear real accounts of life in the world of film and television as Jacoby shares the ins and outs of the business of on-camera acting.
In Saturday’s introductory workshop, students will learn what casting directors seek and how to prepare for auditions. Sunday’s more advanced workshop will provide more details on self-taping, awareness of current trends and understanding how to best represent yourself and your talents.
Jacoby, the Patel Conservatory’s resident casting director, is known for casting feature films such as Cape Fear, Contact, True Lies and There’s Something About Mary. She’s also cast dozens of television programs, such as Burn Notice, Miami Vice and CSI: Miami. More information about Jacoby is available at www.ellenjacobycasting.com.
