St. Petersburg, FL. October 29, 2013: November marks the return of St. Petersburg Preservation’s (SPP’s) downtown lunchtime walking tour, offered the first Friday of each month during the winter walking tour season (November thru March). Tours are free to SPP members. A $5 donation is recommended if not a member. The lunch time tour starts at noon in front of Mickey’s Café & Organics at 318 Central Ave.
The lunchtime tour, lasting approximately one hour, winds through the heart of St. Petersburg’s Downtown National Register Historic District, allowing participants to see some of the best of downtown’s historic buildings and architecture, including churches, hotels and civic buildings such as the Open Air Post Office. The November 7 tour will be led by preservationist and SPP president Emily Elwyn.
