Tampa, Florida (October 27, 2014) – Tampa Community Hospital announces the appointment of Matthew Hinkle, BSN, MHA, RN, CNOR (Certified Nurse OR), ACHE (American College of Healthcare Executives) as Director of Surgical Services.
Mr. Hinkle comes to Tampa Community Hospital from Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia where he maintained responsibility for the cardiac surgery service line including the day-to-day operations of assigned departments. As Director of Tampa Community Hospital’s surgery department Mr. Hinkle is responsible for total management of that area including hiring, firing, competency and supervision of personnel.
Mr. Hinkle has an impressive career in OR nursing and nursing management. He holds a Master of Science degree in Healthcare Administration from Bellevue University in Bellevue, Nebraska and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Sentara College of Health Sciences in Chesapeake, Virginia. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management from Bellevue University as well as an Associate of Science and Nursing degree from Ashland Community and Technical College in Ashland, Kentucky.
Mr. Hinkle holds certification as a CNOR (Certified Operating Room Nurse) and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He also holds membership in the Association of OR Nurses.
