Summit focuses on exploring collaboration opportunities to advance financial capability for Floridians with disabilities
Join CareerSource Pinellas on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, for National Disability Institute’s (NDI) Asset Development Summit, bringing together key stakeholders to build a better economic future for people with disabilities in and around Pinellas County. This year’s event will include discussions on employment, public benefit programs, financial education and asset development opportunities for people with disabilities.
The Asset Summit will bring together members of the asset building and disability communities to identify ways the two communities can work together to build a better economic future for people with disabilities statewide. With nearly one in three people with disabilities living in poverty nationwide, NDI created asset building curriculum and programs, like Tuesday’s event, to bring together individuals with disabilities, their families, service providers and the asset building community to identify new local pathways toward economic self-sufficiency and financial capability for people with disabilities.
WHAT: National Disability Institute’s Asset Development Summit will introduce disability advocates and financial services partners in Pinellas County to unique approaches to work together to build pathways to the advance the economic self-sufficiency of individuals with disabilities.
WHO: Representatives from CareerSource Pinellas, Juvenile Welfare Board, United Way Suncoast, City of St. Petersburg, Neighborhood Home Solutions, GulfCoast Legal Services, Daystar Life Center, Tampa Bay 2-1-1, Senior in Service of Tampa Bay, Inc., and National Disability Institute will be on hand to work with members from the disability, employment, financial services, workforce and asset development communities and service providers to explore opportunities for collaboration and leveraging of resources to build more inclusive services for people with disabilities.
