ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (Oct. 14, 2014) – They will rock you! Experience the power and pageantry of one of rock’s all-time greatest bands as Gary Mullen & the Works present One Night of Queen Thursday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m. at The Mahaffey Theater.
One Night of Queen is a spectacular live concert, recreating the look, sound and showmanship of Freddie Mercury, Brain May, John Deacon and Roger Taylor. From “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Killer Queen” through “We Are the Champions” and “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” Queen in their time re-wrote the rock ‘n’ roll rule book. Mercury was not only the British band’s lead singer and chief songwriter, he was the consummate frontman, a magnetic and unpredictable performer. You could not take your eyes off of him.
In 2000, Gary Mullen won the Live Grand Final on ITV’s Stars in Their Eyes, with the largest number of votes ever received in the show’s history. He assembled The Works two years later, and One Night of Queen was born. The band has performed throughout the U.S.A., Europe, South Africa and New Zealand (more than 150 shows per year) to sellout audiences.
And in the United Kingdom – on Queen’s home turf – fans can’t get enough of Gary Mullen & the Works. Twice, the band has played before very enthusiastic crowds of 40,000 at the prestigious BBC Proms in the Park.
