Pasco County, Florida — Pasco Economic Development Council, Inc. will host the first Tampa Bay Unmanned Aerial Systems Commercial Markets Conference on October 30, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Attendees will be briefed on the latest developments in Tampa Bay and Florida in the emerging small unmanned aerial systems industry. The event will be held at Pasco-Hernando State College Porter Campus in Wesley Chapel with registration and networking beginning at 7:30 a.m.
The growth of small UAS applications is likely to become one of the major economic and technological stories of the 21st Century. Could Florida, already an aeronautics hotbed, become a global player on the UAS stage? Could Tampa Bay become the driver of Florida’s success?
Co-sponsored by the Association of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Systems International, Florida High Tech Corridor Council, Pasco EDC, Pasco-Hernando State College, USF Connect, Tampa Bay Partnership, and Turin Aviation Group, this half-day workshop will harness the wisdom of industry leaders to assess the regional and state prospects for future small UAS industry growth. Learn about promising applications in agriculture, industry, infrastructure, civil services, private security, media, entertainment, high-end consumer, scientific research, and the environment.
The workshop will also explore the factors affecting product developers and everyone within the value chain. Learn about the forces influencing market dynamics.
One of the key challenges currently holding back the potentially explosive growth of the UAS global market is the regulation of unmanned operations in civilian airspace. Impending regulatory changes are expected to unlock the huge potential of this technology. How can these required changes be accelerated to vault the state and region into the lead in this multi-billion dollar global industry (estimated $1.3 billion in 2014—and not yet off the ground)? We will engage public officials and economic development leaders to consider action steps to untether the industry and foster its rapid development.
Don’t miss this ground floor opportunity to learn about the small UAS industry and help drive its success in Tampa Bay and Florida. Seating is very limited and is first come, first served. Cost is $30 per person. To register visit www.pascoedc.com/events or call 813-926-0827.
