Get a “Taste of Bridge Street” at the season opening of the Historic Bridge Street Sunday Market on November 2nd. For just $8 you may taste food from all participating Bradenton Beach restaurants with proceeds to support the upcoming Christmas on Bridge Street Event. We will also enjoy live music by Karen and The Big Bad Wolves, a local band. The outdoor markets run weekly 10 a.m.-3 p.m. through April 26, 2015. In the past, markets have included food challenges for chili, meatballs, gumbo and more, to benefit a variety of local charities. Three more food challenges are planned for this market season. Stay tuned for details and remember that home chefs, not just restaurants, will be encouraged to compete.
The annual outdoor market is hosted by the Bridge Street Merchants Association, a non-profit group formed in 2006 comprised of merchants dedicated to promoting historic Bridge Street, the Bradenton Beach community and its businesses. Over the past 6 years both locals and tourists have found great deals from more than 30 vendors selling everything from fresh produce, to arts and crafts. Every week is a little different, but count on chair massage, funky beach-style gifts, jewelry, clothes, home décor, food, fun, local music and more.
The second Bridge Street Market of the season, November 9th, will feature an ArtWalk at the Market and at various locations on Bridge Street, as part of the island-wide ArtsHOP, now in its seventh year.
The public is encouraged to Trolley Up by taking the free island trolley right to Bridge Street. Car parking options include: the city lot behind the Bridge Street Bistro, up and down Bridge Street including by the city pier, City Hall (which is closed on Sundays) and along the beach just south of Bridge Street.
