BRANDON, FL – The Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce’s President and CEO Laura Simpson, along with members of the Chamber’s Executive Committee, announced recently to the Board of Directors and staff that Simpson has resigned her position within the organization. Effective October 31, 2014, Simpson will step down as President and CEO to assume her new role as Main Street Bartow, Inc.’s Executive Director. The Chamber’s Executive Committee has begun transition planning, both for the long term and on an interim basis, and is searching for Simpson’s replacement.
“Laura has worked with The Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce for more than 14 years and will be greatly missed,” said Tony Del Castillo, Chamber Board Chair and Advertising Manager, Tampa Bay Times. “I wish her the best in her new endeavor.”
This position is closer to home and will allow Simpson to spend more time with her family. She believes this is the right move for her, personally and professionally.
“The opportunity to take the skills honed through The Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce over the past 14 years, and now apply them to further develop and enhance my hometown will be both an honor for me, and a testament to this community,” Simpson said.
