Tampa, Fla. – Would you like to help raise funds for scholarships for Hillsborough
County youth and enjoy a delicious meal? Get your ticket for the Kiwanis Club of
Tampa annual BBQ!
The Kiwanis Club of Tampa along with The Kiwanis Foundation are hosting
their 46th Annual Chicken BBQ Fundraiser at Raymond James Stadium on
Thursday, October 23rd with pick-up available from 11:00AM to 6:00PM. Tickets
are $9.00 each and each meal includes 1/2 barbecue chicken, potato chips,
dinner roll and cookie. This year’s BBQ fundraiser chairman is Gene McDonald.
The Kiwanis Club of Tampa is a Tampa area charity comprised of business,
political and professional leaders in the area and they pride themselves on their
“hands-on” philosophy of civic involvement.
“The Kiwanis Club of Tampa has been hosting the annual chicken BBQ
fundraiser for decades,” explains John Riesenburger, Kiwanis Club of Tampa
President. “Our cookers fire up the grills at 2AM and the volunteers activities
continue throughout the day until over 12,000+ BBQ meals have been packed,
delivered or picked up. Our entire club of 119 members and an amazing team of
volunteers join together for our biggest fundraising event of the year.”
The Kiwanis Club of Tampa, was organized in 1919 as the first Kiwanis Club in
Florida. Join them for a lunch meeting any Wednesday noon at the Tampa Club
in downtown Tampa. In the past year, $141,000 (an average of over $1,000 per
member) was given away to Tampa Bay area charities.
