Bradenton, FL (October 6, 2104) Manatee County Habitat for Humanity will celebrate its 20th Anniversary during an open house event on Friday, October 17th at Pier 22 from 6:00 pm until 9:00pm. Attending this event will be past and present board members, corporate partners, county commissioners, donors, volunteers and friends of Habitat. Guests will enjoy food, drinks (cash bar), music and informal presentations on Habitat’s current accomplishment and future plans.
Manatee Habitat began operation in 1994 and to date has built more than 115 homes in Manatee County with the help of dedicated volunteers, donors and families. Working alongside qualified partner families the affiliate has successfully built two communities in Palmetto and is working to complete a third in Ellenton by June 2015.
In addition to building new homes, Manatee Habitat is working on the revitalization of the community through repairs and rehabs for low-income, elderly, or disabled homeowners. Housing services include basic home improvements, handicap accessible ramps and critical home repairs. Habitat also partners with local veterans in the community to provide critical home repairs and enable veterans who qualify to build and purchase a home.
