Downtown Lakeland, FL. (Monday, October 6, 2014) – Visit the Downtown Farmers Curb Market on Saturday, October 11 and help us celebrate Food Day! In addition to selling fresh fruits, vegetables, breads, homemade sauces, spices, honey, seafood, eggs and more you can enjoy samplings of great dishes made from Market items. From 11am to 1pm, four downtown restaurants/pubs will be serving samples of homemade dishes made from produce, breads and spices from the Market. We’ll even have recipe cards so you can recreate them at home.
So stop by Bay Street Bistro, Tony’s Studio B, Mahan’s Eatery and Mitchell’s Coffee House from 11am-1pm while visiting the Downtown Farmers Curb Market (open 8am-2pm, 200-300 N. Kentucky Ave.) for a taste of a delicious dish, and help us promote and celebrate Food Day 2014! All four are located within the footprint of the Market on either Bay Street or N. Kentucky Ave.
“Food Day inspires Americans to change their diets and our food policies. Every October 24, thousands of events all around the country bring Americans together to celebrate and enjoy real food and to push for improved food policies. Food Day is not just a day; it’s a year-long catalyst for healthier diets and a better food system. Let’s use this energy to make a meaningful and long-lasting difference!” – source, www.FoodDay.org
