SARASOTA, FLORIDA – Central Sarasota Farmer’s Market (CSFM) has opened the Central Market General Store, a shared booth that offers display space to multiple local businesses. Operated by market managers, the store enables vendors to sell non-perishable goods at the farmer’s market without having to maintain their own booths.
The store is ideal for business owners who want to sell their products and reinforce their brand in a different market, but do not want to incur the expense of purchasing additional tents, tables and insurance, hiring new employees, or renting space at the full vendor fee.
It is also appropriate for business owners who want to try a market before becoming a full vendor, or who want to test a product before investing a lot of money in marketing.
“We are always looking for ways to reach out to the community and become more inclusive,” said CSFM Marketing and IT Director Christopher Austin. “The General Store is a perfect venue for smaller vendors who are just starting out, or larger vendors who want to expand their market reach or product offerings. We fully expect that this will become a popular feature for both businesses and shoppers.”
The General Store fee is only $25 per week. Vendors keep all the money from their product sales (this is not a consignment arrangement). For more information or an application, please contact (941) 677-0078.
The Central Sarasota Farmer’s Market meets every Saturday from 8 a.m. till 1 p.m. in the parking lot of the Sarasota County Technical Institute (SCTI), 4748 S. Beneva Road, Sarasota, Florida 34233. The farmer’s market features locally grown produce, fresh baked goods, food vendors, live entertainment, local artists, artisans and service providers – in a convenient, pet-friendly location with plenty of parking and indoor restrooms.
