BRADENTON, Sept. 26, 2104/ Plans are underway to add a little “fun” back into a typical fundraiser. The Salvation Army, Manatee County will transform their annual 5k walk into a glow in the dark fun run! Ready, Set, Glow 5k & 1 mile fun run will take place on Saturday, October 4th at G.T. Bray’s 51st Street Park. Gate registration begins at 7pm with the fun run kicking off at 8pm. Participants will have the option of painting themselves with glow in the dark neon paint and running through a black light course that includes a neon paint tunnel. Once they have completed the course of their choice, runners can hang out for the glow in the dark after party. “We really want people to see that they can have fun and help their community at the same time”, says event coordinator, Melissa Fernandez. “Everyone is invited to bring on the neon and join the fun!”
All proceeds from the event benefit the local Salvation Army. Participants can register early at a discounted rate of $40 per person or at the gate for $45. For more information visit Facebook.com/readysetglowmanatee or www.readysetglowmantee.com.
