Guests can order special menu items to support The Shula Fund during the month of October
TAMPA, Fla. (Sept. 25, 2014) – Diners across Florida will have an opportunity to support breast cancer research while enjoying a delicious meal throughout the month of October at participating Shula’s locations. Earlier this year Moffitt Cancer Center announced a partnership with Don Shula, the winningest NFL coach of all time, and his wife Mary Anne to establish The Shula Fund.
The Shula Fund was created to raise funds for breast cancer care and research in Florida and beyond. The Shula’s $1.5 million donation will help improve care for the more than 1,000 newly diagnosed breast cancer patients who are treated at Moffitt each year. The fund supports the most promising breast cancer research being conducted at Moffitt.
In the month of October, diners have an opportunity to support this endeavor. In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Shula’s restaurants, Shula’s will be donating a portion of the revenues from the Steak Mary Anne entrée at their restaurants and the Superfruit Shake at their Shula Burger locations to contribute to The Shula Fund. At Shula Burger, diners will receive Shula Fund souvenir cups and wristbands with the purchase of each Superfruit Shake.

The Don Shula Foundation was established in Miami more than 20 years ago as a tribute to family members who had succumbed to breast cancer. Through the foundation, the Shulas have supported breast cancer research at Moffitt for nearly a decade.
