SARASOTA, FL (Sept. 22, 2014) – The Central West Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (CWC-FPRA) will host its Fall Media Breakfast, a unique opportunity to learn how to work with the media to generate press coverage, on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, 2635 Fruitville Road, Sarasota, FL 34237. In addition, each attendee with receive a digital copy of the Central West Coast FPRA Media Directory. A hot breakfast buffet will be served. Seating is limited.
This intimate, roundtable format affords the opportunity to meet representatives from prominent media outlets. Attendees will learn story pitching do’s and don’ts including what are the preferred stories and how best to communicate with the media.
This premier event features editors and reporters from a variety of Suncoast media outlets including ABC 7, The Observer Group, SRQ Media and Venice Gondolier.
A valuable feature for attendees is the opportunity to pitch their story to the media. All media representatives in attendance will receive a pitch pack. The Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) has been serving Florida public relations professionals for 70 years, having been founded in 1938 by Lt. Col. John W. Dillin. FPRA is the oldest public relations organization in the United States. There are 15 professional chapters and many university chapters located throughout Florida, including the Central West Coast Chapter. The Central West Coast Chapter was formed in 1966 and has more than 80 members from Sarasota, Manatee and DeSoto counties.
