TAMPA, FL – The Howard Johnson Plaza Tampa Downtown is pleased to announce that it has changed its name to The Barrymore Hotel Tampa Riverwalk. Located on the banks of the Hillsborough River and having recently completed a multi-million dollar guest room refreshment project, The Barrymore Hotel Tampa Riverwalk offers a unique experience in a boutique atmosphere. With a fresh new vibe in Downtown Tampa’s up and coming Art District, The Barrymore Hotel Tampa Riverwalk looks to be a hallmark location as the Tampa Riverwalk extends through Ulele Springs and connects Curtis Hixon Park and Waterworks Park.
“The Barrymore” name is a tribute to the rich artistic history of the Barrymore family who have been stars of stage and screen for generations. Also inspired by the hotel’s location next to the David A. Straz Center for the Performing Arts, The Barrymore is boutique-inspired atmosphere focusing on Tampa Bay’s growing Arts community, as evidenced by the eclectic collection of local artist’s works displayed throughout the 14-story Hotel.
The new logo for The Barrymore Hotel Tampa Riverwalk is a reflection of its refined, yet casual ambience, with a reference to the flowing waters of the Hillsborough River indicated by the “waves.”
