Tampa, Florida- September 15, 2014- LinkedMD, a healthcare technology startup founded by a Tampa-based group of entrepreneurs, launched a 45-day Kickstarter campaign. LinkedMD is an application that allows users access to all of their personal health records (PHR) in one easy-to-use resource. LinkedMD’s Kickstarter campaign will begin on Friday, Sept. 5 and end on Sunday, October 19.
With nearly 80% of all medical facilities providing patients login capability, patients now have access to their personal health records free of charge. LinkedMD is a health record synchronizer and dashboard that organizes and securely stores a user’s health information. By collecting all of the user’s healthcare data in one place, users have immediate access to all of their records. With LinkedMD, users are in control of their health data and can store and easily access records from multiple providers, insurance companies and pharmacies within one application.
“One of the major provisions in the Affordable Care Act [Obamacare] was to give everyone control of their health records and make them easily accessible. News about the need for access to our medical records is everywhere and yet progress is not being made,” said Laura Heiderman, co-founder of LinkedMD. “LinkedMD has plans to make heath records accessible and free of charge to anyone who needs them.”
LinkedMD has turned to the popular crowd-funding website to continue to improve the application’s functionality by automating the aggregation of users’ medical records and adapting the technology for use on mobile devices.
LinkedMD has provided potential backers with a variety of funding levels to choose from, each with incentives such as dinner with the founders at the world famous Bern’s Steakhouse and an invitation to the startup’s holiday shindig.
