Microsoft Word – Tampa Tailgate Press Release 2014 FINAL 1
(Tampa, Fla.) September 9, 2014 – The 13th Annual Tampa Tailgate: Kick-Off to a Cure, an event to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, will be held at the Amalie Arena on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 6pm–11pm. The event combines football, food and festivities with the “goal” of raising funds to go toward Cystic Fibrosis research and patient services.
Saturday night college football will provide the entertainment, while fans celebrate with an indoor tailgate party. Guests will enjoy food and drinks from premier Tampa-area restaurants that have donated time and services to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. Plus, a silent and live auction will include sought after sports memorabilia, spa packages and vacation getaways.
Admission is $100 per ticket and includes unlimited food, an open bar (beer, wine, cocktails) and live entertainment.
The event was founded by Chip and Heather Bauder soon after their son, Logan, was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis when he was 5 months old. Logan, now 12 years old, says “I’ve never known what it’s like to just wake up or go to bed without doing treatments, even if I’m really tired. The only way for better medicine and more than anything, a cure, is money for research. That’s why I want to tell you that you can help make my dreams come true through your donations.”
